Trails Day

Trails Day

FOCHSP is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance of Cape Henlopen State Park. We usually meet on the second Saturday of every month at 8:45 a.m. to maintain trails and collect trash.  Locations may include a trail or the beach.  Check out the monthly newsletter for the meet-up location.

March Details: •The next Trails Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st. •We will work on the Walking Dunes Trail, Salt Marsh Spur, and Youth Primitive Campground. •We will focus on lopping, pruning, weed whacking, and trash pickup. •Please meet at the Nature Center at 8:45 am to pick up tools. •We will then drive to the Biden Center to park. •Please dress appropriately in closed-toe shoes, gloves, and a hat. Entrance fees are in effect on March 1.

Join us as new FOCHP Board members are installed and members will have the opportunity to hear a presentation by Suellen Blackwood, Dark Skies advocate, who will present "Saving Our Dark Skies." Don't miss this chance to learn more about the importance of preserving our night skies!

 

The 2024 speaker was Gary Liska, (pictured) monarch butterfly advocate and expert.

Sample a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and cheeses.  Enjoy hors d’oeuvres selected to pair with the wines and beers.  â€‹

Satisfy your chocolate craving with homemade confections and baked items. 100% of the proceeds from this event go toward our Thatcher Education Fund, which provides financial assistance for students attending Nature Center programs at the park.
